How It Works:

While it can be daunting at first, writing and sending a quarentine is quite easy! It all starts after you sign up to participate on our Getting Started page. After that, you should receive an email from us with further information, including a date in which you'll receive the name of your partner (and who's supposed to write first!).

After your partner receives their letter, the cycle starts again! Got writer's block? Our page on Letter Writing is made to help with that. The CDC states that letters (specifically paper envelopes) are safe to use in terms

All letters are sent to our PO box instead of your partner's address. From there, we use the name of your partner on your envelope to send that envelope to your partner separately (inside a new parcel). Given you don't write your return address on the letter, this ensures no addresses are shared.

(Make sure your letter is no bigger than the standard ~8.88 by 3.88 envelope)

The Life Cycle of a Quarentine:

Receive + Create

In this phase, you either receive a letter or get the information of the first person you are writing to.  Then, you begin crafting your letter! If you have trouble with this part, do consult our letter page!

Send to Us

When you are ready to send, write the name of your partner on your envelope with our PO Box address below it. Don't leave a return address or otherwise any other information on the envelope.

We Receive it

When we get your letter, we put it in our official envelope, and use your partners name to determine their address and send the letter to them! It's complicated, but the only way to ensure no addresses are shared.

Reception

If all these steps are followed, your partner then gets your letter! From here, your partner should begin crafting their response letter to you and the cycle continues back to the first step.
